DECK AREAS
.
“LOWER DECK”
On the Western elevation of the property steps lead down to a timber decked area. (21ft x 10ft nom.) Protection from any prevailing breeze is afforded by navy blue marine acrylic fabric (U.V. resistant) panels fitted between the deck newel posts. The panels are located and fixed in position with white polyester lacing cord through stainless marine fittings.
“UPPER DECK”
A second timber decked area with surrounding stone wall is built at the rear of the property affording views over the fields and to the Western skyline.
When conditions permit sunsets can be pleasantly observed from either deck.
GENERAL
All rooms benefit from thermostatically controlled radiators with the heating supplied by gas combi-boiler. The lounge temperature is controlled by a Siemans digital wall stat.
At the design stage of the property due consideration was given to the importance of insulation levels to be achieved in the finished building. The architect therefore specified that the walls should be insulated with high performance reflective aluminium faced 40 mm thick hard polyurethane “Celotex” panels. In addition the wall cavity was maintained at 50mm.
All the lower floor areas are in addition insulated by polystyrene panels below the flooring with the roof / loft areas insulated by fibre glass material.
